Launched in 2014, the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup is the entry point for many aspiring riders to the world of motorcycle racing. Run by Dorna, the organisers of MotoGP, it provides the right platform for the rookies to make it big in different championships around the world. The event is co-managed by Alberto Puig who has successfully managed two great MotoGP riders, Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa.
Potential riders from Asia, Australia and New Zealand who are born between January 1, 1994 and February 1, 2002 can apply from August 1, 2014 to September 5, 2014. The competition will witness the riders competing against each other on Honda NSF250R Moto3 motorcycles. The pre-selection event will be held at Sepang International Circuit on October 27 and 28, 2014, and the riders who make it through that stage will get to race in the second round of the cup in 2015.
