The newest baby of the Indian telecommunication, Reliance Jio is working on an OBD scanner, through which JIO is targeting most of the cars using the Indian roads by 2020. It is an On-Board Diagnostics system which basically reads data from your car’s sensor and provides information in an user friendly format. The device can be mainly used for accessing various performance parameters and diagnosing any faults in your car.
The OBD device will also be accessible via the Reliance Jio Car connect app which will show you various vital statistics like fluid levels, distance travelled, speed information, battery information etc. Through this app you can also switch on your car’s ac remotely so that when you board your car you get a chilled cabin. Some other mentionable features include door alert, anti theft alarm, speed limit, harsh braking alert and fuel alert, speed limit alert etc.The speed limit app is quite useful when your car is being driven by a chauffeur or if you are lending your car to someone.
This OBD scanner with JIO sim also creates a Wi-Fi hotspot when it is attached to the car’s OBD port. So if you have JIO Join app already installed in your smartphone then you can make free voice calls as well.
The Reliance Jio car connect service is still under beta development phase and the company hasn’t promised anything about its launch date yet. Once launched, it can bring a revolution in the Indian car market with its innovative features. If you are interested to experience the device or know more about it, you can experience the JIO car connect at selected JIO experience zones across the country.
