The Renault Captur is the latest offering to the company and will be launched this month itself, just around the upcoming festive season. However, the car has been spotted while it was on the way to a local dealership. This indicates that the company has already started dispatching the initial units of the car to the dealerships.

Once launched, the Renault Captur will be the most premium car in the company’s Indian portfolio. The new crossover is a lot more than just redesigned Duster. The exterior body comes with a lot of styling elements all across the body. It will be getting C-shaped DRL strips on the lower bumper, LED headlamps and floating turn indicators. On the inside, it will be getting features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, four safety airbags, push start button and keyless entry.

The all-new Renault Captur will be available with both the fuel powerplant options on offer. The 1.5-litre petrol engine which will be capable of making a maximum power of 106 bhp and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox. The 1.5-litre diesel engine will be a more powerful version and will be capable of making a maximum power of 110 bhp while being mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, the car won’t be offered with an automatic unit. Moreover, there are no signs of an AWD drivetrain as of now.

The Renault Captur is expected to be getting an exclusive showroom price starting from Rs. 11 lakhs while the top end “Platine” trim may be priced at around Rs. 15 lakhs. It will be competing against the like of Hyundai Creta and the 7-seater Mahindra XUV500. Interestingly, India is the first market to be getting the RHD (right hand drive) version of the car.
