Renault Captur Unveiled; Bookings Start at Rs. 25,000

Snapshot: Underpinning the globally successful B0 platform, Renault Captur has entered production and would launch next month in the Indian market.

Renault India has unveiled the all-new Captur SUV in the country. Underpinning the globally successful B0 platform, Renault Captur has entered production and would launch next month in the Indian market. The company has started the bookings for the Captur SUV from today on the Renault CAPTUR App and Renault India website at an initial token amount of Rs. 25,000. It would be introduced in both petrol and diesel fuel trims, while coming with a couple of Personalization packs - Diamond Deck and Urban Connect, and multi-colour roof styling options.

The SUV would feature Innovative Lighting Systems (ILS) with full LED headlamps and unique floating side indicators. The full LED headlamps would be integrated in C-shaped Sapphire LED DRLs, while there would be Ripple Tail Lamps add a distinct, instantly recognizable lighting signature to the car. It would ride on the R17 Crystal Cut alloy wheels with other exterior highlights include front bumper, with Satin Finish Front & Rear Skid Plates. The Captur would be the widest and longest in its category, with best-in-class ground clearance of 210mm (unladen). The safety features on the Captur would include dual airbags, side airbags, Antilock-Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) & Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist.

Inside the cabin, the Captur would have an array of exquisite features such as smart access card, engine start button, Infinity instrument Cluster, automatic AC with surround illumination and rear cooling vents, and ULC 3.0 multimedia navigation system comes with a 7-inch display featuring radio and Bluetooth technology, voice recognition (for iOS), maps along with temperature and time display. In addition, it will also come with a Cruise Control feature that helps maintain a pre-selected speed without acceleration and a Speed Limiter, which restricts speed within limits selected by the driver. It will also have 2 lateral ISOFIX fixtures with top-tether in the rear seat for enhanced child safety.

The French automaker also debuted the Renault Captur Platine Edition, which is the most premium version across Renault cars, used discerningly for very exclusive offerings. The global-first, exclusive CAPTUR PLATINE features ultra-premium white and gold interiors with AC vents engulfed in chrome, along with the stylish bezel with golden finish. The cabin boasts of 6-way adjustable ErgoDesign white leather seats with golden accents with lumbar support and lateral support. Mechanically, the Captur would come with the same powertrains as the Duster SUV. The petrol variants would be powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder H4K engine which develops 104bhp at 5600rpm and 142Nm at 4000rpm, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variants would get their power from the tried-and-trusted 1.5L 4-cylinder K9K engine with maximum power of 108bhp at 4000rpm and peak torque of 240Nm at 1750rpm, while linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 

As mentioned before, Renault Captur would be available with two Personalization packs – Diamond Deck and Urban Connect. Together with Diamond Deck and Urban Connect, Renault will offer a range of aesthetic and utility add-ons including chrome embellishments, smart lighting enhancements, illuminated scuff plates, elegant interior finishes, roof decal designs, designer mats and more to accentuate the appearance of the new SUV. Meanwhile, the company aims to reach to 320 dealerships by the end of 2017 and its growing network presence will make Renault products and services, including Renault CAPTUR, more accessible to customers across the country.
