After playing a successful inning of almost two years, Renault India now contemplating over launching the Duster 4X4 in India. The new hardcore Duster is said to be launched before the end of ongoing year and interestingly will be the company's first model with 4X4 driving configuration in India. Although, the Duster 4X4 was spotted about a year ago while being testing in India but the French automaker has not shared its launch plan as yet.

Renault has already been offering the Duster in 4WD drivetrain layout in several international markets and the same will be offered in our country as well. The Duster 4X4 will get the Nissan's all wheel drive system combined with 6-speed manual transmission. Power will continue to come from 1.5-litre, K9k series turbocharged diesel engine that comes in two set of 85bhp and 110bhp tunes. Though, the new drive configuration will most probably be featured on the latter version.

Renault introduced the Duster in 2012 and no doubt the model has been proven a great success for the automaker in India. The company sales figures went skyward after its launch but got slightly affected after the arrival of Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano in the market. However, the 4X4 layout will become an advantage for the Duster over others which will help the company to boost its sales figures again in the market.
