Renault, the French automaker, is all set to introduce the Duster facelift in the country by the end of 2015. Renault Duster facelift was spotted as test mule on Indian roads just a couple of days back, albeit fully camouflaged. Just so you know, the company had launched the Duster facelift in Russia last month. The changes on the facelifted version of Duster would be strictly cosmetic; no mechanical changes at all.
Going by the spied mule, the new Renault Duster would have an all-new LED tail-lamp cluster. It could be quite identical to the Brazilian model of Duster. At the front, there would be restyled headlamp units, redesigned bumper and grille with tweaks. As for interior cabin, it would also be updated. However, majority of the current model's features like MediaNAV infotainment display, Bluetooth telephony, and cruise control would be retained. It is being learnt that 2016 Renault Duster might get a 6-speed dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission in order to compete against the Hyundai Creta automatic. Also, the all-wheel-drive system would continued to be available with the range-topping variant.
Under the hood, the Renault Duster facelift would carry on with the 1.5L dCi diesel engine with power in two tunes: 85PS and 110PS. Both the engines would have manual gearbox as standard. It is expected that Renault would launch the Duster facelift in early 2016 as it has already lined up Kwid hatchback for launch in festive season. For those wondering, the company has decided to launch two fresh products in India every year and under this, Lodgy MPV was launched earlier this year and Kwid is ready to be unleashed in October. 2016 Renault Duster would lock horns with the Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross.
