Launch of Renault India's most popular crossover “Duster” in July 2012 in India and Renault added an AWD (all- wheel-drive) version later, but the design of the SUV remained untouched. Now, the brand is all set to unveil the Renault Duster Facelift for the Indian market at Auto Expo 2016. This refreshing crossover will offer a new pinched exterior, updated equipment package and a new AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option.
Speaking of the cosmetic enhancements, the design of the headlamps remains the same, but the unit inside is rearranged identical to the international version of the product, slightly tweaked taillights, newly-designed dark coloured alloy wheels, reprofiled front and rear bumpers. The interior is expected to offer features a redesigned dashboard with upscale upholstery. The Duster facelift will continue with the same seven-inch MediaNAV infotainment display.
The most appreciable update in this model is in the form of R-AMT gearbox, this 5-speed mechanized gearbox is expected to be mated to the 110 PS diesel variant. Whereas the powertrain lineup is expected to remain same with 1.6-litre petrol engine mated with a 5-speed gearbox will deliver 104 PS and a 1.5-litre diesel engine which is available in two configurations – 85 PS with 5-speed MT and 110 PS with 6-speed MT. The Duster with 110 PS is also being offered with an AWD system.
The Renault Duster facelift is expected to go on sale in India in the middle of the year. Making such upgrades in their product the brand is hoping to regain its hold in the Indian market again.
