The French automaker, Renault, has introduced the Duster 85PS in a new Variant, named as RXL Plus in India. The silently launched new variant has got the airbags, ABS and EBD safety features additionally over its RXL variant. Before the new variant's launch, Renault was been selling the 85 PS powered model in three variants- RxE, RxL,RxL Option Pack. However, the price difference between middle variants was huge as RXL is priced at Rs. 9.90 lakhs while the RXL option Pack comes with a price tag of Rs. 11.18 lakhs, and the buyers who had prioritized the safety features, but also had a constrained budget were left in the half-way as RxL is not equipped with abovementioned safety features.

The Duster RxL Plus is equipped with basic comfort features like all four power windows, manual air conditioner and entertainment system. The rugged looking compact SUV is powered by 1.5-litre K9K series diesel engine that produces the peak power of 85 PS with torque output of 200 Nm. The reliable engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that delivers the power to front wheels.

The Renault Duster has been the country's first compact SUV that has also changed the company's fortunes in India. Although, the launch of victorious Ford EcoSport has affected the Duster's market severely but still it has been selling in good numbers. Furthermore, the launch of RxL Plus variant at Rs. 10.60 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) is likely to help Renault in gaining some more sales numbers of the Duster. The company also launched the facelift of Fluence just two day before in India. You can read that here.
