Renault India delivered 400 vehicles in a single day across the state of Kerala in India on the auspicious day of Chingam. Recently, the company launched a comprehensive door step service facility ‘Workshop on Wheels’ (WOW) in Kerala to facilitate the servicing of Renault vehicles, even in the remotest areas. Renault’s ‘Workshop on Wheels’ is fully equipped and can perform 80% of workshop operations including all maintenance services and minor repairs.
The French automaker had also organized a Mega Service Camp from June 17th to 24th, 2016 across all Renault dealerships in Kerala where trained and well-qualified service technicians were dedicated to provide the care and expert attention that is needed for the cars. Chingam which fell on Aug 17th is the first day of the Malayalam New Year calander and is considered very auspicious in Kerala. Onam, the harvest festival, falls in the month of Chingam and the celebrations begin within a fortnight of the Malayalam New Year. Just a couple of days back, Volkswagen delivered a record 148 cars on the day of Chingam across Kerala. Also, joining the bandwagon was Datsun, as it delivered 310 units of the recently launched redi-GO hatch on the day of Chingam in Kerala.
Renault launched the Kwid 1.0L SCe last week in India at an introductory price of Rs. 3.82 Lakhs. The hatch has received phenomenal response in the Indian market with over 165,000 bookings already registered, while around 1 Lakh units have been delivered till date. Similar to the standard variants of Kwid, the 1.0L SCe too has localization of over 98 percent. Renault engineers have developed an all-new 1.0L SCe petrol engine, which generates 67bhp of top power and 91Nm of peak torque. Linked to a 5-speed manual transmission, it returns an impressive fuel economy of 23.01kmpl. The company has set a target of 5 percent market share in India by the end of 2016.
