Renault India hikes car prices by up to 1 per cent

Snapshot: The affected models include, Renault Duster SUV, Pulse hatchback and Scala sedan.

French automaker Renault India have officially announced a price hike across its range of vehicles sold in India by up to 1 per cent. The reason for the hike in prices has been attributed to “swelling input cost, which have driven up the cost of components.”

The affected vehicles due to the price hike includes, the hugely popular Renault Duster SUV that recently crossed the one lakh units sold milestone and spawned a new celebratory limited edition model, the Renault Scala sedan and the Pulse hatchback. The Koleos SUV and the Fluence sedan have been kept away from the aforementioned price hike, but we reckon the two models will join the list eventually.

The one per cent price hike is effective from July 1, 2014.
