Renault India has listed the Lodgy MPV on its official website, as the market launch of the said vehicle is approaching. Renault Lodgy MPV is expected to launch in and around the month of April this year. The vehicle showcased on the Renault India website flaunts a violet color. Recently, the company unveiled the Stepway version of the Lodgy at an awards function and Bollywood superstar Hritik Roshan was handed over the keys to the first car in India.
The company claims that the Renault Lodgy will redefine the segment as a complete “Multi-Purpose Vehicle” and deliver best in segment performance. Also, it describes the Lodgy as stylish and sophisticated, while the stepway version is said to be the bold and muscular one. Renault hasn't divulged much details about the Lodgy MPV on the website, but a few images are on display. Underpinning the Renault Duster platform, Lodgy - the first MPV from the French automajor Renault - appears quite similar to its European model. However, the company has distinguised it by adding extra chrome detailing on the grille and black cladding on its lower bumper.
The range-topping Stepway variant would flaunt body cladding on the side, front and rear silver skid plates, new front bumper, and more chrome detailing on the triple-slat grille. Renault Lodgy would be powered by the 1.5L K9K dCi motor, which is already on offer with the Duster compact SUV. it would generate a maximum power of 108 bhp and peak torque of 240Nm. However, base and mid variants could also be offered with the 84 bhp guise and a 5-speed manual gearbox. The top-end variants would come with a 6-speed manual gearbox. An automatic transmission is not on cards, at least for the time being. Identical to Duster, Renault would launch a couple of petrol-powered variants too with the Lodgy. They would Duster's 1.6L motor with maximum power of 102 bhp and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Lodgy would be assembled locally at Renault's V plant in Oragadam, Chennai with prices expected to be starting at Rs. 7 Lakhs and going upto as high as Rs. 10 Lakhs for the Stepway variant.
