Renault India has unveiled the new Duster at the Auto Expo 2016. It is the first major facelift for the compact SUV in the Indian market, ever since its launch in 2012. This upgrade is strictly in terms of cosmetic with major focus on the exterior styling. It also gets a newly The new Renault Duster will also have segment-first 6-speed Easy-R AMT technology transmission. The New Duster will sport over 32 completely new styling & technical features. Mr Sumit Sawhney, MD & CEO, Renault India unveiled the new Duster.
Talking about the exterior, the Renault Duster facelift, it is quite identical to the new Duster which was launched in Brazil recently. The front fascia flaunts a single slat grille and new headlamps. It rides on the newly designed alloy wheels, while the redesigned tail-lamps and new body panels sum up the styling quotient. Inside the cabin, there is a refreshed dashboard with a new single piece centre console. The console panel holds the circular A/C vents and MEDIANAV touchscreen display. Just so you know, the A/C vents aren't anymore integrated in the main console. The fabric upholstery and console buttons are also expected to get an update.
Talking about the engine, the Duster facelift would retain the same 1.5-litre 4-cylinder K9K diesel engine. It would generate power output in two tunes: 85 PS and 110 PS. The 85 PS variants would be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 110 PS variants would get a 6-speed manual transmission. Also, as said before, it gets an optional Easy-R AMT for the first time with the 110PS variants. The French automaker will also offer this model with an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system.
Renault Duster has always been appreciated was that carved the niche segment of the compact SUV in India in 2012 and since then, multiple vehicles like Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta and Maruti S-Cross has also joined the parade.
