Recently, the Renault Kaptur made its debut in Moscow, Russia last month and now the compact crossover has been spotted in a variety of colours. Reportedly, the image has been shared by a dealership somewhere in Russia that shows first unit headed to the showroom. The Kaptur’s design, which is based on Renault’s six-petal flower strategy which symbolises the human life cycle is quite similar to that of Renault Captur crossover.
Speaking of the exterior, Renault Kaptur gets a redesigned front bumper with C-shaped LED daytime running light housed in it and LED taillights. The compact crossover measures 4,333mm in length, 1,813mm in Width (not including door mirrors), 1,613mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,674mm. The Kaptur has a boot size of 387 litres and can be extended to 1,200 litres, once the rear seats are folded.
Though, the brand has not revealed anything about the engine specification, but it could be powered by a more tuned up 1.5-litre engine, while the transmission options could include five- and six-speed manuals and a six-speed AMT Easy-R single-clutch automatic. The crossover will go on sale in Russia this summer, and the Russian-spec model will come with optional AWD system which shares the independent rear suspension with the Duster 4X4.
Reportedly, the Kaptur will make its Indian launch in October 2017. The Indian version should be built at the Renault-Nissan’s facility at Oragadam near Chennai.
