Renault India to launch its compact SUV, Renault Kiger.
The Renault Kiger will be launched in India in the second half of 2020.
This Renault’ sub-four-metre compact SUV will come with the petrol-only powertrain.
In December 2019, the CEO of Renault India, Venkatram Mamillapalle unveiled that Renault will soon be launching a sub-4-metre SUV (codenamed HBC) this year, probably in the second half. Now, a document has been leaked, according to which the Renault new sub-4-m compact SUV name will be Kiger.
As per the document, it has been clear that the company has trademarked Kiger name to the SUV in the country. The Kiger name is derived from the kind of horse species in the United States. This trademark is registered when Renault India revealed that it is going to enter into the sub-four-metre SUV segment in the market later this year.
As of now, there are not many details available about the Renault Kiger (HBC), however, it is expected to come with a petrol-only engine as Renault India will be discontinuing the diesel line-up prior to BS6 emission norms, which will be effective from April 2020.
As reported earlier, the Renault Triber turbo-petrol variant is in works and it will be launching soon in the Indian market.
