Renault India has confirmed the launch of Kwid 1.0L SCe this month in the country. The Kwid 1.0L SCe had its first public appearance at the 2016 Auto Expo in February, alongside the Kwid AMT. The French automaker has already sold over 75,000 units of the hatch ever since its launch in September 2015. Renault Kwid 1.0L would be locking horns with Maruti Alto K10, while expected to be priced between Rs. 3.30-4.20 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
"The Kiwd has been widely accepted in the Indian market and we are ready to enhance our offering under the model range by launching a 1-litre engine version this month. With the launch of the 1-litre Kwid, we will be further enhancing our offering in the segment and serve customers who are looking for a more powerful vehicle in the entry level segment. Last year we had stated that we want to garner 5 per cent marker share in India. We are on course and I am hopeful that by December this year we would touch that mark," Renault India Operations Country CEO & Managing Director Sumit Sawhney told. Just so you know, Renault Kwid has registered over 1.5 Lakh bookings in India.
The foremost reason behind Renault Kwid's exceptional success in India was the stellar pricing, that left everyone astounded to core. It was priced between Rs. 2.62-3.67 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). One can expect something similar with the Kwid 1.0L. The company has sold over 75,000 cars in the first seven months of 2016. And, going by the current rate, it could sell more than double that it had last year. According to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), domestic car sales stood at 20,25,479 units in 2015-16 as compared with 18,77,706 units in the 2014-15.
