Renault Kwid has caught many eyes in the Indian passenger car market, where the brand has received good response for the model. With the success of the model, Renault will now launch the more powerful version of the Kwid, i.e. the Kwid 1.0L on August 22. The model was first showcased on the at the 2016 Auto Expo in earlier this year.
Speaking of the exterior, the car retains the same design as the existing model apart from some tweaks like designer decals on the doors, two-tone grey-coloured OVRMs and the ‘SCe’ badging on the trunk-lid. Inside, it gets the same dual tone dashboard with a digital instrument cluster wearing some chrome accents. The side and centre AC vents are added with some chrome inserts.
Coming to the specifications, the model will be offered in the top variants RXT and RXT (O) trims. The new Kwid will be powered by 1.0-litre 3cylinder engine that is capable to dish out 68PS of power at 5500rpm and 91Nm of torque. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed gearbox transmitting power to the front axle. As claimed by the company, it will return as good as 23kmpl of mileage.
While for the safety, the Kwid 1.0L SCe will be loaded with an engine immobilizer, driver side airbag, remote keyless entry and central locking. In terms of price, it is expected to be Rs 50,000 costlier than the current Kwid.
