Renault showcased Kwid Outsider concept that made its stance just next to Renault Duster Extreme off-roading concept at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. The Outsider concept accentuates SUV styling on the Kwid with plastic cladding around it. It seems that the company is focusing itself on the off-road theme riding it on the large wheels.
Built on the company’s CMF-A platform, the Kwid Outsider gets around 80 percent of its new parts have been developed by Renault Technologies Americas and developed in conjunction with the Renault Design Latin America. Speaking of the exterior appearance, the model is similar to the Kwid Climber concept that was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, earlier this year.
Just as the exterior has been showcased in Orange paint shade, the interior of the concept too gets a touch of the same on the AC vents, steering wheels stitches, instrument cluster outlining and outlining of the infotainment unit. The interior received some noticeable changes such as an analog unit instead of digital instrument cluster, revised centre console with door locking switch gear and just underneath the touchscreen infotainment system. Instead of the top glove box, airbags has been placed and another change that we got to see is the adjustable rear seat headrests.
The model has gathered good response and has been a hit in the Indian car market. Moreover, Renault is all set to launch the AMT version oh its entry level hatchback soon.
