French auto major Renault, is all set to increase the price of its popular small hatchback Kwid by 2%. With the price revisions, the Kwid will get costlier by Rs. 11,000 due to which the Renault Kwid will now be priced from ₹ 2.60 lakh to ₹ 3.64 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Since the Kwid’s introduction in the Indian market last year, the entry level small hatchback has done great business for the French automaker by performing far better than its well known competitors in the segment, which came as a surprise to many. Now Renault is all set to increase the price of the hatchback to offset the rise of input costs.
The French auto giant is also likely to increase the prices for the other models offered in India by up to 2 percent. Presently, the portfolio of Renault India has Kwid and Pulse hatchback, Scala sedan, Lodgy MUV and Duster SUV which are priced in the range of Rs. 2.64 – Rs. 13.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The baby Renault is one of the great looking cars in the small car segment, it offers some class-leading features which includes spacious cabin, touchscreen ICE with navigation and Bluetooth & AUX connectivity. The car also has the best-in-class boot space of 300-litres and ground clearance of 180mm which helps to carry loads of luggage and tackling bad roads easier. Renault also offers many optional exterior features and interior trim choices for customers to choose from.
Renault Kwid comes with a 799 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine under the hood, that produces 53.2bhp of power and torque of 72Nm. The engine is further mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox for good performance. Renault has got brilliant response from the younger generation with the Kwid hatchback and to bank on the demand they have recently launched a more powerful derivative of the hatchback with 1.0-liter engine which develops 68PS of max power with the peak torque of 91Nm.
