Recently, the MPV segment has sprouted like none other with the likes of Honda, Maruti, and Nissan, all coming out with their own versions for the MPV segment. One more name is all set to join the battle with Renault's ready to launch its Lodgy. The Renault Lodgy has been caught testing, camouflaged in their Chennai plant.
Although, no official launch date has been revealed by the Renault, speculations are that early 2015 can be the launch of Lodgy. The Lodgy is actually a Dacia vehicle which will be sold as Renault Lodgy in Indian markets on the similar lines of Duster. Strangely enough, Renault didn't showcase the product in the Auto Expo earlier this year.
The heart of the car will be powered by a 1.5 litre K9K diesel engine producing 90 bhp power. The same engine powers Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano. The expected price range will be Rs 8-11 lakh and will share many of its components from the Renault Duster. One look to the car and you can see how big she is. A definite competitor to Toyota Innova, it will be more roomy and spacious.
The MPV segment has seen many launches in the recent times and more and more manufacturers are jumping the bandwagon. Nissan Evalia, Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Cheverlot Enjoy and the hottest selling Toyota Innova are the cars currently catering to the segment.
