Renault India had released the first official image of the India-spec Lodgy MPV, around a fortnight back. The company had also indicated that it would be launched in the first half of 2015. Recently, our friends at IAB, snapped the interior of the Lodgy MPV, while it was on its test runs. The Lodgy's interior would be premium and up-market, consisting of an array of advanced equipments, including a touch-screen infotainment system.
Going by the spy-shot we have, it is clearly visible that Renault Lodgy MPV gets a touch-screen infotainment system, circular, chrome-ringed AC vents and a center console similar to the Renault Duster. However, it is unconfirmed yet whether it would have a media-NAV system like the Scala and Duster. Rotary knobs placed beneath the captured infotainment system show that Lodgy would boast a manual A/C unit, similar to the Duster. It is expected to have borrowed several components from Duster, inside the cabin. At the outside, the India-spec Lodgy flaunts added chrome detailing on its grille, and different alloy wheels than the international version of the MPV.
Renault Lodgy is expected to arrive in diesel avatar, while the 1.5L, 4-cylinder powertrain being sourced directly from the Renault Duster compact SUV. The 4-pot K9K engine comes with two different power outputs with Duster - 85 PS and 110 PS. It would be interesting to see in which state of power it comes with the Lodgy MPV. The 85 PS trim is linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while 110 PS guise is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. Apart from the Lodgy MPV, Renault would also launch a new small car - codenamed XBA - in 2015 to counter the likes of Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon. The company intends to acquire 5 percent of market share in next couple of years.
