Renault Lodgy MPV has been spied totally undisguised, ahead of its launch in the the last week of this month or first week of April 2015. Renault Lodgy would be the company's first major launch this year and would directly rival the Honda Mobilio. The variant spied here is the range-topping RxZ of the regular Lodgy by Mr. Rahul Appina, a MotorBeam reader.
Apart from the standard Lodgy variants, Renault would also bring in a Stepway variant with skid guards and body cladding, which would be at loggerheads with the Honda Mobilio RS. Going by the images, the Lodgy MPV flaunts a chrome finished front grille, which is designed specifically for the Indian version. It also gets chrome linings at the side rub-rails and rear registration plate enclosure.
A set of 15-inch alloy wheels can be seen in the spy images. Inside the cabin, it would have a dual-tone dashboard, a piano-black center console, chrome highlights for the instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, a touchscreen Media NAV system, and AC vents for the second and third rows. In addition, the company has also provided foldable tables at the back of front seats.
Talking about the engine options, it would get the 1.5L, 4-cylinder K9K diesel engine which is offered with Duster as well. Quite similar to the Duster, it would churn out power in two states: 85bhp and 110bhp. However, web reports have indicated that Lodgy has been benefitted from electronic updates, which would subsequently result in smoother power delivery. The 85 bhp trim - to be available with entry-level variants - would be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 110bhp trim would be coming with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Renault Lodgy price is expected to be in a domain of Rs. 7-10 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
