Renault India will launch its much awaited Lodgy MPV tomorrow on April 9, 2015 in the country. Renault is already booking the Lodgy for an initial amount of Rs. 50,000 and according to dealers, the MPV is getting a phenomenal response from the buyers. To be pitted against the segment leader Toyota Innova, Renault Lodgy will borrow most of its components from the Duster compact SUV.
To be launched in the 7- and 8-seater versions, the MPV boasts of dimensions equal to Innova but with more features. The MPV will come with features like reverse camera with sensors, roof-mounted AC vents for both the third and second rows, touch-screen infotainment system and power sockets for all the three rows.
To be launched only in the diesel guise, Renault will adorn the Lodgy with the trusted 1.5L K9K motor, that will come in two states of power - 85ps and 110ps. While the 85ps model will produce 200Nm and come with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the 110ps variant will produce 245Nm torque with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Renault claims that the Lodgy will be able to return an ARAI certified mileage of 19.98kmpl. Also, the MPV will come equipped with top notch safety equipments like dual front airbags, ABS, and EBD. As discussed above, Renault Lodgy will fight against the highly successful Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio, and Nissan Evalia. It will be launched in a price bracket of Rs 9-13 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
