After getting fabulous reaction from Kwid, Renault India is all set to lineup latent models for the 2019-2020 Indian auto market. The french carmaker will launch its quite anticipated Renault Kaptur compact SUV in India in the final quarter of 2017. With the new MO platform, which also comes in Renault Duster, this small SUV will be produced in company’s Chennai based plant. 

Renault India has officially imported a model of the Kaptur to India for testing purposes on Indian road. Presently new spyshots have uncovered an early test mule for the Renault's upcoming crossover.

The upcoming Renault 7-seater SUV is probably going to be priced at a mid-ranged segment. This is likely to be an immediate competitor of the Mahindra XUV500. The Renault Kaptur costs are relied upon to be as low as Rs. 12 lakh and for its higher model Rs. 15 lakh.

The four wheel drive crossover is expected to get 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines. The 1.5-litre direct injection system, common-rail diesel is expected to comes with 89bhp of power @4,000rpm and 220Nm @1,750rpm. This power is expected to deliver to the rear wheel via six-speed manual or a six-speed Easy-R AMT gearbox.

The katpur attracts by its design of honeycomb mesh patterned grille, large front bumper, C-shaped LED daytime running lights and LED tail lamps. Renault Kaptur measures 4,333mm in length, 1,813mm in width and 1,613mm in height, and comes with a 2,674mm wheelbase. The large wheelbase offers a more interior space than the normal Captur. Renault's new compact SUV loaded with a seven-inch touch screen display, a digital speedometer, radio and Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, keyless entry with start/stop ignition and cruise control.
