The general process of marketing for automobile companies starts with a teaser image, followed by more teasers and then online unveiling after a few days and then the public unveiling at some global automotive show. But Renault decided to choose a new path by revealing the all-new Kadjar SUV on the very same day after leaked images surfaced online.
Renault says that the crossover SUV “stands out through its fluid, athletic exterior styling”, while its interior is “both sporty and refined”. The global premiere of the car is slated in March during the Geneva Motor Show and it will go on sale in Europe and in many African and Mediterranean Basin countries from mid 2015, followed by the UK and China.
It won't be wrong to say that the Renault Kadjar shares its DNA a lot from the Captur and is designed keeping in mind the DeZir concept. The lines are soft, LED headlights are optional and the rear-end is Clio-bred. There’s also a complete under-body protection and 19-inch alloy wheels, available at an extra price.
Unlike the exteriors, the C-segment crossover doesn't resemble any of the other Renault cars. The Renault Kadjar designer defines the interiors as “a smart, comfortable and carefully appointed interior”, and comes fitted with high-quality materials and the R-Link 2 multimedia system. The engine lineup will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.
Based on the CMF platform that also underpins the Nissan Qashqai, the Kadjar will be available with either a four- or two-wheel-drive configuration.
