Renault expects to reverse the downward slump in sales with its latest model, Renault Triber.
Renault Triber witnesses a sales of 2490 units in August.
Renault MD and CEO, Venkatram Mamillapalle is optimistic that the Renault Triber will arrest the downward slide and push up sales to encouraging levels. The Renault Triber was launched on August 28, whereas the bookings commenced in mid-August. It will not be until September that one will get a clear picture of its sales. However, the initial figures are encouraging with the Renault Triber selling 2490 units out of Renault's total passenger vehicle sales at 5704 units in August. The Y-o-Y in August saw a decrease of 13%, whereas it was 41% for July. These figures constitute the numbers of vehicles dispatched to dealers and not the actual retail sales. Renault expects to intensify its marketing efforts in rural areas.
Two factors that could contribute to arousing interest in auto buyers are the aggressive Renault Triber launch price and its spacious cabin, despite the vehicle length being less than 4m.

The Renault Triber launch price was in the range of Rs 4.95 to 6.49 lakhs. The 7-seater comes in four variants with an updated 1.0L Renault Kwid’s petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Renault Triber offers facilities available in SUVs at a reasonable cost. Mamillapalle states that the price difference of Rs 50,000 between each of the four variants is because of the improvement in the designing aspects. He has also assured that the pricing will remain the same for some time.
According to Mamillapalle, Renault Triber is attracting new customers and not the ones looking for an upgrade. The excellent features like spacious cabins and flexibility are the reasons for the same. Built on a CMF-A+ platform like the Renault Kwid, the Renault Triber has a wheelbase of 2636mm to accommodate a spacious cabin. The dimensions of the Renault Triber are 3990mmX1739mmX1643mm (LxWxH).
The Renault Triber does not have an automatic variant, but the features are excellent considering the pricing. The other Renault models have slowed down. Hence, Renault Triber hs a big responsibility to shore up sales. Time will tell whether the Renault Triber reverses the downtrend or not.
