The Renault Triber price could start from Rs 5 lakh.
It will get a seven-seat layout.
The subcompact model will not have a direct rival.
Renault will launch its seven-seater model, Triber in the country on August 28, 2019, while bookings are expected to start from August 17, 2019. The upcoming sub-four meter model will sit between Kwid and Duster in Renault’s range.
Measuring 1,739 mm wide, 1,643 mm high and sitting on a 2,636 mm long wheelbase, the Triber outsizes most of the premium hatchbacks. Insides have been crafted to accommodate seven-seat layout, which allows 625L of cargo space with the third row down.
The dual-tone cabin benefits from an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 3.5-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, AC vents across rows and a cooled glovebox, will be offered with the top-spec variant. Standard safety kit will comprise ABS, three-point seatbelts, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors.
Under the hood, it will get a 1.0-litre petrol engine with 72hp of power against 96Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual unit along with an optional 5-speed AMT. Renault is likely to add a turbo-petrol engine to the line-up at a later stage.
