Renault has announced that the Renault Triber will be the recipient of a turbocharged petrol engine very soon. The specifications of the new engine have been revealed. Apart from this new engine, the Renault Triber turbo petrol version will feature an automatic transmission system, as well.

The Auto Expo 2020 witnessed the introduction of the new Renault turbocharged petrol engine, named HR10. This engine is a 1L 3-cylinder unit that will be introduced as a Turbo Control efficiency unit (TCe). The tuning of the engine ensures to deliver a power of 100ps and a torque of 160Nm. As on date, it will pair with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It might mate with a CVT option in the future.

Renault has also introduced a better version of the 1-litre TCe engine that can produce a high power of 117ps with a maximum torque of 180Nm. This potent engine will power the Renault HBC, a sub-4-metre SUV that the company plans to launch sometime after June 2020.

Apart from the 1-litre TCe engine, the Renault Triber will come with 5-speed automatic transmission. At present, it will be made available with the current BS6-compliant 1L SCe 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine produces a power of 72ps and a torque of 96Nm. The TCe engine will be a BS6-compliant engine right from its inception.

The HR10 1L engine is a smaller version of the HR13 1.3L engine 4-cylinder turbocharged engine developed for heavy vehicles like the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Daimler. This engine, available in many international models, could come to India very soon. The most likely beneficiary for this engine will be the Renault Duster.
