Audi would reveal the 2016 A4 facelift officially before the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The new sedan has been spied as test mule numerous time with camouflage. Now, car illustrator Julien Jodry has rendered the upcoming India-bound 2016 Audi A4 facelift (B9), which in all likelihood, would be unveiled in August. The rendered images are based on the various spy-shots.
Audi A4 is no longer the smallest sedan for the company as that role has been given to the A3. It is being reported that the next-generation A4 has grown up in size to distinguish itself from the A3, but it is hasn't lost its primary styling elements and is instantly recognizable. Despite being bigger in size as compared to the ongoing model, it would be around 100 kgs. lighter due to the use of MLB Evo platform. At the front fascia, the new sedan flaunts new headlamps with company's latest chrome-bordered Singleframe grille. At the rear end, there are split tail-lamp enclosures and also a A3 Sedan-like integrated bootlip spoiler. Inside the cabin, the new A4 sedan would boast a touch-controlled MMI system, a Virtual Cockpit for the instrument cluster and a high-end surround system.
Mechanically, 2016 Audi A4 would be offered with an array of petrol and diesel motors. The entry-level variants of A4 are heard to be available with a 1.4L TFSI engine with COD (Cylinder on Demand) and a 1.6L TDI diesel engine. However, the India-spec model would carry the standard 2.0L TFSI and TDI engines, when it arrives by the mid of 2016. Similar to the ongoing model, it would also be manufactured locally at Audi India's Aurangabad production plant. Interestingly, the company is also contemplating an e-tron model by mixing up a 190PS 2.0L TDI engine with two electric motors (136PS combined) and an Audi Q7-sourced 9-speed S tronic transmission.
