The third generation Maruti Suzuki Swift was in traduced in June 2010 and the model seems to be ready for an update. Earlier, we informed you that Suzuki Europe is working on the next generation Swift, where we gave a glimpse of the model through leaked images. And here is a rendering of the new Swift, which appears to be like a sports version.

Looking at the 2017 Swift, it gets some distinctive round-off sharp lines that highlights more of its frontal and the bulgy tail. The model may share styling cues from the company’s premium hatchback Baleno, as we can see it does borrows some crease-lines from it. Being based on the all-new Maruti Baleno, it could shed around 50 kg of the kerb, as it will be high-rigidity and lightweight new-generation platform.

Coming to the engine configuration, the Euro-spec model that is named as Suzuki Swift will most likely be offered with the 1.2-litre K12C DUALJET naturally aspirated four-cylinder and 1.0-litre K10C DITC turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engines. While the Swift Sport will be power packed with 1.4-litre K14C-DITC BOOSTERJET turbocharged petrol unit, the same one that powers the Suzuki Vitara.
