Repsol Honda extends its partnership with Red Bull
Snapshot: According to the latest developments on both the sides, the team is going to stay together for next two seasons
It was 2006 when Red Bull joined hands with Repsol Honda racing team's riders Nicky Hayden and Dani Pedrosa who had started his career the same very year. From the last 9 years, Honda riders have been associated with the Austrian energy drink manufacturer. But a new development has taken this bond to an all-time high. The energy drink manufacturer has signed a deal with the whole HRC team. This also means that for the first time, Marc Marquez will be seen wearing a Red Bull logo on his leathers and motorcycle as well.
Together they agreed that Red Bull will be the Official Energy Drink Partner of Repsol Honda till the end of 2016 season. From the time the collaboration stated between Red Bull and Repsol Honda team, they have won 58 wins, 172 podiums, 63 pole positions, 73 fastest laps, three rider's championships and four constructor's championships.
It is pretty evident that Red Bull is trying hard to make its presence felt in the MotoGP world as it is the main sponsor for three of the 18 races to be held in 2014 (Circuit of the Americas, Argentina and Indianapolis), whereas the direct competitor Monster has only two races to its credit (France and Catalunya). To add more spice to the round of developments, there are also rumours that an Austrian MotoGP might be introduced in the next season with Red Bull buying and revamping the old Österreichring circuit in Austria.
