Mercedes Benz has a good presence in the Indian luxury car market sector. They have introduced a number of models in India. Two new models ‘GL Class SUV’ and ‘A Class’ are already available to the Indian car buyers. Now they have announced that they are going to introduced a face lifted model of ‘E Class’. The company has announced that the new model is priced at Rupees forty one point five lakhs.
The revamped model has undergone some exterior and interior modifications. However, the same model was presented in a motor show in ‘Detroit’. The modification to the exterior are changes in the ‘bumper’ and also the front lamps, which were scattered in the clusters, are now enclosed in a ‘frame’. The back of the vehicle also has new designed lamps as well. The interior is also modified substantially. The console is re-designed, and now comes with a infotainment system which now has ‘navigation’ system which is operable through ‘satellite’. The new model comes with two variants. The model using petrol has two point zero Litre and four ‘cylinder’ engine. This engine is capable of producing one hundred eighty four BHP. The diesel variant comes with a two point one litre and a four cylinder ‘engine’. This engine reaches two hundred four BHP. Both variants, petrol as well as diesel, have ‘7G – tronic’ ‘transmissions’ which are ‘automatic’. The company says that the fuel usage is very reasonable, for petrol engine it is eighteen point six KMPL while for the diesel engine the fuel consumption is twenty two KMPL.
On the occasion of the launch a senior executive from the organization emphasized that the policy of the company is giving satisfaction to their customers by bringing out models which are safe, easy to drive and have elegant interiors and exteriors. He said the ‘E – Class’ incorporates all the best features which are common in the luxury models.
