The ultra-luxury British marquee Rolls-Royce launch the Dawn convertible today in the country for Rs 6.25 crore, ex-showroom. The Rolls-Royce Dawn is the open-top avatar of the Wraith coupe. The car made its first public appearance at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. After the Phantom Drophead coupe, it is the company's second convertible luxury car, which is identical to every Rolls-Royce. It would be sold as CBU in India.
Rolls Royce says that the Dawn has 80 percent unique body details with 2:1 wheel height to body height. While speaking of the styling, it boasts of large Rolls-Royce signature chrome grille with a low stance. Dimensionally, the convertible measures 5285 mm in length, 1947 mm in width, 1502 mm in height, and comes with a long wheelbase of 3112 mm. Inside, the British exotica features a full wood finish with leather upholstery for the seats, a canvas roof that gets folded in just 30 seconds, electrically adjustable seats, Dawn is fitted with the Spirit of Ecstasy Rotary Controller, an intuitive, one-touch solution, company’s bespoke audio system with sixteen individually-tuned speakers and many more.
Interesting comes under the hood, the new Dawn Convertible is powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that is capable to dish out 563bhp of power along with 780Nm of torque. The powertrain is connected to a ZF-sourced 8-speed transmission that sends drive to the rear wheels. The transmission system is aided by satellite that uses GPS data to allow the car to see beyond what the driver sees, anticipating their next move based on location and driving style. The convertible can accelerate from 0 – 100kmph in less then 5 seconds before hitting a topspeed of 250kmph.
