Rolls Royce has officially announced a new product to their lineup called the Dawn. The Dawn is nothing but the Wraith Drophead Coupe and will go on sale from the next year. The car was recently revealed to the company's global dealer network at the 2015 Rolls-Royce World Dealer Conference in Los Angeles, California. Representatives of 130 dealers were present at the unveiling.
Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, Rolls-Royce CEO, in a statement said, “[The] Dawn is a beautiful new open-top motor car with a name that suggests the fresh opportunities that every new day holds – an awakening, an opening up of one’s senses and a burst of sunshine. It will be the most social of super-luxury motor cars for those beautiful people who wish to bathe in the sunlight of the world’s social hotspots.”
The Dawn is a soft-top version of the Wraith and is described as an "exciting and sensuous drophead". And hence it will powered by a twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12 engine that generates 632 PS of power and 800 Nm of torque. This much power pushes the Wraith from 0-100 kmph in 4.6 seconds, but the Dwan will be slightly slower.
This is not the first time 'Dawn' marquee has been used for a Rolls Royce car. The British uber-luxury car manufacturer first used this name in 1949 for 28 pieces of Drophead cars built between 1950-1954. The original Silver Dawn was the first ever Rolls Royce that was launched with factory-built body.
