The level of craftsmanship provided by Rolls-Royce is unmatched in the automotive industry and the latest example to back up this statement is a one-off Phantom Nautica which as the name suggests takes its inspiration from the nautical domain. To be more precise, RR’s designers used as theme a classic yacht to elaborate this special Phantom which combines an Orchid White paint for the lower half of the body with an Arabian Blue look for the upper half.
The same blue hue was also used for the coachline that has received a lovely anchor motif also found inside the cabin where it has been inlayed in the marquetry. Rolls-Royce applied a very luxurious Forest Fall leather upholstery on the seats which benefit from Navy Blue piping while the door capping is finished in Tudor Oak. Also noticeable is the Boxwood inlays as well as the Tudor Oak veneer while the drawer in the center dashboard carries a bespoke compass that was created specifically for this one-off Phantom.
Like with all the other special edition Phantoms, this one hasn’t received any mechanical upgrades so it features the same V12 6749cc engine producing 453 bhp and 720 Nm of torque which helps the large luxury sedan run the 0-100 kmph sprint in 5.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 240 kmph that has been electronically limited.
These are some impressive performances taking into account the Phantom weighs a hefty 2,560 kg and is an absolutely huge car, measuring 5842 mm length, 1990 mm width and 1638 mm height, with a massive 3570 mm wheelbase.
It’s now more than 12 years old and will be replaced towards the end of 2017 by an all-new model which will have a lot in common with the latest generation BMW 7-Series, so it should lose a lot of weight and become more efficient and could also be offered with a plug-in hybrid setup.
