Round 3 of the 18th JK Tyre Racing Championship Ended on an Exciting Note
Snapshot: Round 3 of the 18th JK Tyre Racing Championship concludes on a happy note at BIC, Noida..!!
After a while, finally a weekend came when I had my adrenaline shoot up high to the body’s red line. Thanks to JK tyre for organising an action packed event and I must say I was craving (like everybody else on the grandstand) for a day like this for a long time now. The event was third round of the 18th JK Tyre Racing Championship that kick started at 11am starting at the morning and I had absolutely no idea when my watch clocked 6.30pm.
Being a motorcycle guy, I went to the event expecting a good motorcycle action but I have to admit, even the cars left me drooling. The event included various category of races from VW Vento cars to Litre-Class Superbikes.
Past 2.30pm Superbike Championship started, after a day before yesterday’s qualifying race, Sandesh Prasanna was on the top of the grid with his fastest lap timing of 2:03.528 followed by Bhupinder Singh on his 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 with his fastest lap timing of 2:04.345 and on the third position was Simran Jeet on his Kawasaki ZX-10R with his qualifying fastest race time of 2:04.601.
The race had to be restarted after a slight crash and one less unhurt competitor. Bhupinder Singh had a slow start and was pushed to 4th position initially but lap after lap he kept on improving his position and crossed the finish line in the first place. Simran Jeet on his ZX-10R captured second position followed by Manmeet Singh who finished third on his BMW-S1000RR.
The race timings -
Bhupinder Singh (Delhi) – 14:29.056
Simran Jeet (Delhi) – 14:29. 705
Manmeet Singh (Ghaziabad) – 14:43.833
Apart from the Superbike racing, Triumph Motorcycles India unleashed their ultimate track tool, Triumph Daytona 675R in the 600cc category racing. Before starting with the race roundup I must highlight, listening to the Daytona on a high pitch is like music. The Rajputana Customs founder, Mr.Vijay Singh from Jaipur took away the 1st position doing a total race time of 15:17. 684 followed by Gurvinder Singh Matharu (15:20.025) on second and Archit Kumar grabbed the third position finishing the race in 16:19.463.
One of the best part of the event was the high-on-energy crowd, all the grandstand seats were flowing up with spectators cheering up the racers every time they passed from the main stretch. There were almost 20-25K spectators that made the day even more special for everyone on the other side of the track.
