Royal Enfield motorcycles are known for their typical retro charm and now, the brand has unveiled a limited edition model that brings the World War II era nostalgia. Dubbed as the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus, this motorcycle is themed around the legendary RE/WD 125 that was commonly christened as Flying Flea and vehemently used by the British paratroopers.

Interestingly, the all-new Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus limited edition model will be available globally, however, in a specific number of 1,000 units only. Among them 190 units have been allocated for the UK market and each one will cost GBP 4,999 which translates into Rs 4.5 lakh roughly. It is yet to be disclosed how many units will be available in the Indian market and what will be the pricing of the special edition motorcycle here. But, one thing is sure that the motorcycle manufacturer has grabbed everyone’s attention with this retro army machine. The special edition motorcycle is expected to launch in India within a next few months.

Royal Enfield says that the motorcycle will be available in two different colour options, inspired from the original Flying Flea. These are Service Brown and Olive Drab Green. Speaking about the uniqueness of the Royal Enfield Classic 500, each unit of the model gets an unique serial number stenciled on the fuel tank memorizing the 250th Airborne Light Company that used the original motorcycle during World War II.

Apart from the Flying Flea inspired styling, the 194 kg weighing limited edition motorcycle is mechanically the same as the regular Classic 500. It is powered by the same 499 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out 27.2 bhp of peak power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.
