Royal Enfield will increase prices of two of its popular models including the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650, reports in media opine. The 650 twins, as suggested, could receive a price hike in the range of Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000. An official announcement from RE is expected soon.
The hike in price is unlikely to hamper sales of the Royal Enfield 650 twins. Both the models enjoy good demand in India, leaving behind popular models including KTM RC 390, Bajaj Dominar and other 400cc bikes.
Royal Enfield has been selling 650 twins in good number since their launch in November 2018. The RE GT 650 and Interceptor 650 registered 2000 unit sales recently, turning out to be major contributors for RE in their respective segments.
The braking set-up on the motorcycles comprises twin-piston brake callipers 320 mm disc units at front and 240 mm disc units at the rear along with a dual-channel ABS braking. Additionally, there is a 41 mm telescopic suspension at front and dual-suspension at the back.
