Royal Enfield has launched the 2020 Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 with BS6-compliance, at a starting price of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the latter, and Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom) for the former. The update has also led to a price hike of around Rs 10,000 as compared to the outgoing BS4 models.

Both the updated motorcycles will still be powered by the same 649 cc parallel-twin, air and oil-cooled motor as before, albeit of course, with BS6-compliance. The said engine puts out 47 hp power at 7,250 rpm and 52 Nm torque at 5,250 rpm, and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The Chennai-based manufacturer has commenced the bookings for the updated 650 twins at its dealerships across metro cities for a token amount of Rs 10,000. The deliveries are set to begin soon.
The updated Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 takes the total tally of BS6-compliant Royal Enfield motorcycles in India to four; since the manufacturer had launched the BS6 versions of the Classic 350 and the Himalayan some time back.
