Royal Enfield has launched the Thunderbird 500X ABS variant as per the mandatory government regulation to include ABS in upcoming motorbikes. And it follows after the recent launch of the 350X ABS with dual channel ABS. The updated version is hiked by Rs 14,000 compared to the non-ABS model. The new Royal Enfield bike is priced at Rs. 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). If sources are to be believed the on-road price is estimated at Rs 2.48 lakhs – about Rs 30k lesser than the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.

Most of the highlights and features of this new Royal Enfield motorcycle remain the same. The power output is generated from a 499cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor that churns peak power of 27.2hp at 5,250RPM and peak torque of 41.3Nm at 4,000RPM.

Royal Enfield ABS variants include Classic Signals 350, Classic 500, Himalayan and Thunderbird 350X. The company earlier in November had launched the 650 Twins with dual channel ABS as standard.

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X cruiser with dual-channel ABS is the most expensive single cylinder bike available now. In comparison with the non-ABS model available until now, Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500X ABS is almost 15K costlier. The on-road price could be as high as Rs 2.6 lakhs, according to the respective regions and state rules in India.

In fact, Thunderbird 500X non-ABS model could be discontinued soon corresponding with the new rules that require ABS as a standard inclusion with effect from 1st April 2019.
