  • Trials will be powered by the same engines as seen on the Classic 350 and 500
  • The motorcycles will be launched in Pune this week
  • Trials will run on dual-purpose rubber
  • Both the motorcycles get an upswept exhaust

Royal Enfield will be launching the Trials 350 and 500 in Pune this week. Some of the select dealerships have started accepting the bookings of both the motorcycles. Trials is the scrambler version of the Royal Enfield Classic and the home-grown brand can pit it as the more off-roading friendly motorcycle out of its product line-up. Both the motorcycles are set to be launched this week in Pune. The spy shots of the motorcycles are doing rounds on the internet since December 2018 and have made quite a buzz for the brand.

The Trials 350 and 500 borrow a lot of components from the existing models of Royal Enfield. Trials 350 will be powered by the 346 cc single-cylinder motor seen on the Classic 350 that churns out 20.1bhp at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Trials 500 will host the same 499 cc motor that powers Classic 500. The bigger engine churns out 27.2 bhp at 5250 rpm and max torque of 41.3 Nm at 4000 rpm.

The teaser video surfaced online a few days back confirmed few things about the Trials. It gets an upswept exhaust, luggage rack instead of the pillion seat, a lot of chrome on the body panels, spoked wheels, dual-purpose tyres, high-mounted rear mudguard and 650 twins inspired side-indicators. This will be the second bike after Royal Enfield Himalayan which is made especially for the off-road enthusiasts. Royal Enfield is already equipping its existing product line-up with dual-channel ABS unit and the Trials will also be equipped with the same as standard.

The Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer is on a spree of updating its entire product line-up and introducing new models as well. Royal Enfield is also trying to tap different global markets and recently established a wholly owned subsidiary in Thailand and they'll also start an assembly plant there to cater the Royal Enfield customers. The plant will be operational by late 2019. However, there's no official word on the pricing of the Trials 350 and 500, but we expect it to be Rs. 20,000 pricier than the current Classic 350 and Classic 500 models.
