If reports are to be believed the Chennai automaker is working on to introduce their 2016 motorcycles with ABS (Anti-Lock Breaking System). It’s been a long time since Royal Enfield has introduced any major change from the technical aspect. Upgrading the future line-up with safer breaking technology will surely prove to be fruitful for Royal Enfield in one way or another.  It’s not yet confirmed which of the Royal Enfield models will be equipped with this upgrade but it will be safe to assume that 2016 Himalayan will surely be launched with ABS.

For the ones unaware about the news we reported few weeks ago, Royal Enfield will be launching a new motorcycle every year from 2016 till next five years and we hope all of them will have ABS equipped as standard. Apart from the future products chances are the current models like Thunder Bird 500/350 and Continental GT and Classic’s will also be upgraded with ABS.  In a country like ours, where road conditions are far from those Europeans, ABS is necessary and especially when you are riding a heavy machine like Royal Enfield’s.

"Royal Enfield is working on two new platforms and will be coming out with new products 2016 onwards that will have global appeal. As part of our R&D process, we keep exploring and working with various partners on design and technology. We can share more details as and when we are ready to announce our new products," said a source to TOI.
