It was a happy moment for both Sahara Force India Formula One and Mercedes, as the former signed an agreement with the engine supplier Mercedes for a long term. The agreement was to use the power-train from the year 2014 when formula one season starts. According to the agreement, Mercedes has agreed to provide the gearboxes, hydraulic system and the complete power unit of the internal combustion engine and the energy recovery system to Sahara Force India. It is for the fifth consecutive year Sahara Force India and Mercedes-Benz are working towards for improving the Formula One racing in India.
It is reported that the engines used by the Sahara Force India was supplied by the Mercedes-Benz since year 2009. Sahara Force India’s team principal, Vijay Mallya alleged that the new agreement is very important in the history of Sahara Force India for the next coming year. But there was no mention about the vehicle McLaren.
He also mentioned that the new power-trains will used in the coming year. He thinks Mercedes-Benz is the best partner to work with when it comes to Formula One. With the agreement the Formula One racing will enter into a new era with lots of excitement and opportunities. The future of the agreement looks stable and both the teams will strive towards the journey for the Best Formula One in the coming years.
The existing V8 engine with a capacity of 2.4 liters fuel will be replaced by a new turbocharged V6 engine with fuel capacity of 1.6 liters for more dynamic results. The heat recovery system will be used in the future races. This new long term agreement is a proper balance between the excellent pricing and the performance. Sahara Force India team principal thinks the long term agreement will improve the new power train. Mercedes Motorsports Head said that they will work hand in hand with Sahara Force for the new power train generation for the entire life cycle. This agreement will bring in more enthusiasm and zeal among the all those who have planned to take part in Formula One racing for the next year.
