Way back in October 2014 we were the first automotive website to tell you that Royal Enfield is working on a adventure tourer model to incorporate it in its portfolio. SInce the launch of the incredible Continental GT Royal Enfield has finally understood to branch out to more niche and globally acceptable model ranges it seemed. Back then we told you that Royal Enfield, as we have found out from our sources, is working on a new 385cc engine, which will be an upgrade to the existing 350cc model range. It is unclear right now; if the older 350cc version will go out once the new engine comes out, probably around June 2015.

However, what we were sure even back then was Royal Enfield will indeed offer this new 385cc engine in an all-new model. Moreover, the all new model was going to be an Adventure Tourer Model, much on the lines of the products like Triumph Tiger, and the BMW GS series. Now reports are coming in that, A new trademark application for a "Royal Enfield Himalayan"  has come  up on the European Union’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market on , suggesting a new model from the Indian manufacturer. As is the case with most trademark filings, few specific details are available, but with a name like “Himalayan,” it’d be difficult to envision anything but an adventure bike.
