Yamaha is on a roll, few months ago the much awaited R 25 came out at last, and was an instant blockbuster. Then, just a few days ago we shared our story about the 320cc, 42 PS power house, the R3. Still, Yamaha has no plans to stop giving us a preview of these mouth watering bikes anytime soon. Leaked documents from Indonesia reveal that that Yamaha is likely to produce a new motorcycle codenamed ‘MTN250’ from the middle of next year and we feel that it is the new MT-25.

The MT-25 will essentially be a naked motorcycle with Yamaha R25’s power mill. So the MT-25 will have 249cc Parallel-Twin, 8-valve, liquid-cooled Unit, making 36PS and while producing 22.5Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a six speed gearbox which will be re-tuned to match the character of a street motorcycle.

In terms of design, the MT-25 will shed off the clip on bar for a naked motorcycle style wide handlebar. The MT-25 is expected to be lighter in weight as compared to the R25. The MT-25 would help Yamaha compete against the Kawasaki Z250 and KTM Duke 390 motorcycles.

Now, this being a fairly interesting update, but, what has got us dreaming now is the possibility of a MTN – 300 based on R3, and if the stunning MT-125 is any signal, that will be absolutely incredible!!!!!

We did break news realated to MT-25 a few days ago!!!!
