  • The second-gen Hyundai Creta bookings are underway with select dealers.
  • The Hyundai Creta is an Indianized version of the Hyundai iX25 SUV.
  • The second-gen Hyundai Creta will launch in India somewhere around March 2020.

Hyundai India revealed the second-gen Hyundai Creta at the Auto Expo 2020. The company has not yet confirmed its launch, though it can happen sometime in March 2020. However, specific dealers in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai have started accepting bookings for the SUV. The booking amount ranges between Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000, depending on the location of the showroom.

Hyundai has not revealed much about the vehicle. However, it will come equipped with a potent engine similar to that available in the Kia Seltos, its cousin. The second-gen Hyundai Creta, modelled on the lines of the iX25, is more significant in dimensions than its predecessor. The split-headlight design and the split tail-light set-up along with the squared-out wheel arches give the vehicle an imposing look. It does look like an Indianized version of the iX25 found in China.

The Auto Expo allowed auto lovers to get a peek of the features that will be available in the car. One such advanced feature is the introduction of the landscape touchscreen infotainment system. The iX25 features a portrait layout. The variation in the design necessitates a change in the positioning of the central air-conditioning vents.

Hyundai Creta will feature BlueLink Car Connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, and LED headlamps. Other details are not yet out. Hyundai has confirmed that it will share the engine configuration with the Kia Seltos. There will be three options, as is available in the Seltos. They are a 1.5L diesel engine, 1.4L turbo-petrol and 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol motor. There will be no change in the transmission options, as well.

When launches, the Hyundai Creta will give Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, and the Renault Captur, a run for their money.
