Second season of the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup begins

The Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup is back with its second season that begins from today. The 22 riders fighting for the title will have 3 days of extreme testing at the Malaysian circuit as a part of preparation for the new season. There are 9 riders who will be competing back again from the last season to challenge for the little once more. While the rest of the grid is made up of 13 new competitors and this will be their first opportunity to experience the Honda NSF250R NSF250R Moto3™ bike, on which they will race this year. All new riders are selected after they passed through en extremely hard selection procedure, consisting of various different stages before making the final cut.Honda NSF250R NSF250R Moto3™ bike makes 48 peak horsepower at 13,000 rpm, not fully exploiting the limits allowed by the rulebook, and 20.6 foot-pounds of peak torque at 10,500 rpm. While the bikes claimed to be 180-pound dry weight.

The 9 riders who are returning from last season’s competition includes the runner up, Japanese rider Yuta Data, and a number of other leading riders such as his compatriots Takuma Kunimine and Ayumu Sasaki, and not forgetting the Malaysian riders Adam Norrodin and Shafiq Rasol.The Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup brings together the best young racers from around the world to battle it out over 12 races held over 6 weekends. The championship races will be held in Qatar, Malaysia, Japan and China, with the first one taking place at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand on 22nd March, as a part of round 2 of the WorldSBK championship.
