The Czech car maker has introduced a new variant of its decently popular Octavia sedan having the name of Style Plus. This variant is available in both petrol and diesel engine options and will become the topmost variant of the Octavia series after its launch.
The Style Plus petrol is priced at Rs. 20.27lakhs, the diesel variant is priced at Rs. 21.23lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). This sedan gets all the features that are offered for the Elegance trim, alongside the Style Plus variants also get engine keyless entry, engine start-stop button, 8 air bags, Smartlink mobile phone connectivity system and paddle shifters. The paddle shifters make this already fun to drive car even better as now you can extract all the power from its powerful engine with ease.
The Czech automaker has also introduced a new infotainment system in the Octavia Style Plus trim, which includes satellite navigation system. The navigation system in question is an MIB Amundsen 2 unit, which supports navigation through SD card. It gets 2 MicroSD card slots that have been placed inside the glove box of the car. The screen size of the infotainment system is same 6.5-inch, as found in the earlier unit. It can be read easily even in direct sunlight and it does not produces much glare. The company has also launched a new variant named the Ambition Plus which also gets a 6.5-inch display but without the satellite navigation system.
On the mechanical front the car is totally unchanged, it still comes with the same 1.8-litre TFSI petrol engine and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine respectively. The 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine which produces massive 178bhp of power and 250Nm of torque comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission system. On the other hand the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine which makes 141bhp of power and 320Nm of torque is mated to a brilliant 6-speed DSG gearbox.
