Skoda Auto India has joined the bandwagon of automobile companies passing on the GST implementation benefits to the customers. The company has announced a revision of Skoda car price across all its model.
As per the revised pricing strategy, Skoda Superb has witnessed maximum change with the top-end model price being dropped by 7.4%, which results in a total price benefit of Rs. 2.4 lakh. Similarly, the Skoda Octavia range has seen a price drop ranging from 4.9% to 7.4%, which results in a maximum benefit of Rs. 1.75 lakh on its highest-end model. The new Skoda prices are effective from 1st July 2017.
Operating in India for more than 15 years, Skoda now maintains a strong presence in the luxury sedan market of India. The company currently sells three models in the country, namely, Octavia, Superb and Rapid.
Skoda has recently announced to launch the Skoda Octavia Facelift in July, pre-bookings for which have already been started. The new Octavia comes with a refreshed look with redesigned front grille accompanied by automatic DRLs and fog lamps. Mechanically, the new Octavia carries the similar models as the outgoing model. The petrol variants will have two engine options - 1.8-litre TSI with maximum power output of 178 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm, and 1.4-litre TSI with the highest power of 147 bhp and a max torque of 250 Nm. The diesel engine, on the other hand, will come with a single engine option - 2.0-litre TDI with max power of 143 bhp and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
