The Škoda Octavia vRS has a special place on the carmaker's portfolio as the sportiest sedan they have to offer. The current Octavia in the vRS spec has already made headlines as the fastest series-production car that Škoda has ever built. But a new limited edition car that plans to make an entry at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, plans to snatch those bragging rights.
Christened as the Octavia RS 230, the limited production model will get updated mechanicals and a slightly different design. On the latter, the car gets a black finish for its spoiler, a seamless reflective strip on the rear bumper and a different design for a the alloy wheels - very similar in appearance to the wheels on the first generation of the Lamborghini Gallardo, if you ask us. The interiors get some red colour accents on the upholstery.
Under the hood, the 2.0 litre TSI petrol engine gets more power. As the name suggests, it produces 230 PS of power as opposed to the 220 PS on the regular Octavia RS. Thanks to the extra power, the Octavia RS 230 manages to sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 6.7s, 0.1s faster than the RS. Top speed has been bumped up to 250 km/h which is 2 km/h faster than the RS. The regular RS already has a 15mm lower ground clearance than the stock Octavia and the RS 230 is expected to sit even lower. The Octavia RS 230 will also be the first Škoda to offer an electronically controlled differential front axle lock as standard fitment. The Škoda Octavia RS 230 will go on sale in the European market immediately after its Geneva debut, while we wait eagerly for the regular Octavia RS to come to India.
