The Czech automobile manufacturer, Skoda globally unveiled the all-new third-generation Skoda Octavia in 2013 and now the brand has marked a milestone by rolling out one millionth of the model from the Mlada Boleslav facility. Skoda Octavia was first introduced in 1996, since its first unveiling the brand has sold a total of five million Octavias. This one millionth jubilee vehicle was an Octavia Scout in moon-white.
In 2015 alone, the company sold 432,300 vehicles from the Octavia model series around the world, which is around 11% more Octavia models than the previous year. Skodathe Czech marquee has already delivered 70,500 Octavias to customers in the first two months of this year. Globally, the new Skoda Octavia is offered in sedan and estate body styles, while it is also available in various other iterations like Octavia hatch, Octavia G-TEC with natural gas drive, Octavia Scout, a robust all-rounder with impressive off-road qualities, debuted in 2014 and the Octavia RS is the fastest series-produced Octavia of all time.
In India, Skoda Octavia is currently offered in three engine options, a 1.4-litre TSI petrol, a 1.8-litre TSI petrol, and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. There's a wide choice of gearboxes on the list as well, with both manual and automatic units completing the line up. The 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine is capable to produce 140 PS & 250 Nm of torque, a 1.8-litre TSI petrol engine is good for 180 PS & 250 Nm of torque, while a 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit cranks out 143 PS & 320 Nm peak of torque. The 1.4-litre engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.
